We arrived back in England with Euro-tunnel and arrived to a cold and wet autumn afternoon. Autumn had already arrived in England and it came as a bit of a shock, as in France it was still so warm. We both felt that it was time to leave Europe and go to the other side of the world where Spring had just begun. |

But first we went to stay with our very good friends Mike and Maggie (M & M). Over the years we have become great friends and were looking forward to go and stay with them for our last weekend in Brighton. They were thrilled to see us and had dinner ready for us. On the Saturday night they invited our other friends, Joy and Philip and we had a lovely time reminiscing and celebration our new start in life. Then Ishbel Fergus’s older sister joined us at M & M's and on Sunday. In the afternoon I met up with Linda and Sonya at Linda’s place and we had the chance to spend some lovely quality time together. |
Monday morning was spent running around Brighton to sort out the last bits before we were ready to leave. Natalie was also in town so we met for lunch with M & M on the beach and had a final lunch at the "Board Walk". Natalie invite Linda and myself to see the dress rehearsal of her company which was going to perform at the Corn Exchange, after our departure. We were delighted to accept and spend the afternoon watching a great show. Natalie was working as a rehearsal director and it made me very happy seeing what a fantastic job she did. In the evening we had dinner with Diana. We went to Browns, as it was one of our favourite haunts and it was nice to spend this last evening with Diana and Ishbel. Then it was time to go and we drove to Godalming, where Ishbel lives. She took all our luggage and us to the airport on the Tuesday morning 4th October, we were finally on our way to New Zealand. We flew to Los Angeles where we were collected by Fergus’s other sister Derry. |
