The next day we moved and enjoyed more of the lovely coast. Then we headed inland and to Gore. Gore has a fantastic exhibition of an art collection made by a New Zealander called John Money while he was living in America. We heard about the exhibition on the National Radio and decided to go and have a look. It was fantastic and we thought it to be world class. We gazed at the fantastic collection of carvings from all over Africa and I will not forget that exhibition in a hurry.
From Gore we headed North up the centre of the South Island, into the high country and towards Queenstown.

Queenstown was full of Japanese tourists, dreadful architecture to stack in the tourists and all the shop assistance were Japanese too. This town to me is a perfect example of how tourism for the sake of making money can be totally spoil a what must have once been a very special place.
One night in Queenstown was enough so next morning we headed North again.

Wanaka was simply wonderful and it was also a very nice sunny day. The lake with the mountains looked stunning.

Next we would head further North through the Lindis Pass.
